MDT Begins it’s 29th Year!

On September 24 our Fall 2019 classes will begin our 29th year of classes and performances in Corvallis! Check our Schedule of Classes and Rates and our Brochure cover page by following the links on our menu.

We will be offering a full range of classes for dancers ages 6-18 starting with a new MDT class of Introduction to Modern dancers ages 6-7.

Our Park and Rec classes, which begin Oct 2 are growing right along with our dancers.  New classes in Levels Modern I (ages 8-10) and Modern II Intermediate (ages 11-13) allows for our continuing students to move to the next level of instruction and also welcomes new dancers who wish to join us. Please email or call me with placement questions before registering with Park Rec. My contact info is below.

I am excited and encouraged to form a new Junior Performance Group. It is currently open to the Park and Rec Modern II Intermediate dancers who will perform in the December Making Spirits Bright concert. Dancers from our Modern III Intermediate class will be invited to join starting January. The goal is to provide extra classes to improve technique and performance opportunities for those wishing to become more engaged  in Modern dance.

MDT class Modern III Intermediate ( ages 13 and older) will again be taught by our talented and innovative alumni; Heather Vencill.

Advanced Performance Group classes will be taught  by myself and Heather. This year our group will be joined by last years Pre- Advanced dancers who will benefit greatly  from taking all their classes alongside our talented and hard working Advanced dancers.

We are lining up our 2019-2020 performance season schedule. Our plans include developing new works to challenge our choreographic creativity and to continue to build a repertoire that engages and improves the quality and abilities of our dancers!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I am so looking forward to another year of engaging classes, beautiful dances, and to continue to build the friendships and relationships that last a lifetime!

Content of this years concert include  dances  that are whimsical, flowing and lyrical to ones filled with strong dynamic technique and social commentary .

Also performing are Park and Rec dancers aged 6-12, Teens Modern  and our up and coming Pre Advanced Modern 4/ 5 dancers. Alumni instructors Heather and Kayleigh also will dance together along with Senior dancer Sarah McCullough in a performance on the Tiny stage; a 4×4 stage 18″ off the ground.
